I often wonder why is it hard to write about a book we like so much? It is because there is so many things in there making stomach squeeze or is it because of this feeling in the head, difficult to transfer into words. I think many people struggle to say about things which move them deeply apart of saying just wow!
“Pachinko” Min Jin Lee is more than a typical family saga based in oriental Korea. It is a story of a woman named Sunja and her family in turbulent time of war between Korea and Japan, where Korean minority in Japan had a really tough life and it is more than worth to read and to learn a bit about it.
I wrote in my review on Goodreads that this is a book to read for all parents and their friends and teacher and really for everyone. It is worth and very important to read stories of so big and important topic of gender dysphoria in that genius way Laurie Frankel did.
It is nothing new that I like to read books from which I can learn something or at least read about topics which fascinate me. So I was more than intrigued and not at all annoyed by the main character in book The Naturalist by Andrew Mayne - professor Theo Cray, a computational biologist, which strange title always makes people confused.
I really love the phenomenon in literature when one figure in the book is transferred to another book and there is gaining a new life. And being student of Classic Literature we spent whole days reading and wondered about every day life of deities as Zeus, Athena or Helios.
